The franchise has bounced back swiftly from some major blows. It isn’t easy to recover from losing two superstar players in Kyrie Irving and LeBron James. With limited wiggle room, the Cavaliers have managed to build a solid young core in just two seasons.
Last season, it took the team an entire month to win two games. Through one week, the Cavaliers have a 2-2 record.
This is for a number of reasons. For starters, Tristan Thompson has played at an All-Star level thus far. His averages of 20.3 points, 11.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game have led the team through the start of the year.
Meanwhile, Kevin Love has done a magnificent job of scoring consistently while leaving an opportunity for the rest of the team to thrive. Love is putting up 16.0 points and 16.8 rebounds per game as of now.
Most importantly, the Cavaliers’ young core is showing signs that they are capable of leading this franchise in the future. Let’s take a moment to break down what each young member of the Cavs has shown us thus far.
