The Philadelphia 76ers’ 2019-20 season is young, but some trends are already present as Brett Brown tries to figure out the bench.

Through three games the Philadelphia 76ers have shown quite a bit. From Josh Richardson running the point to Furkan Korkmaz suddenly being in the team’s plans, coach Brett Brown has already juggled a lot of pieces.

An 82-game regular season requires a lot of mixing and matching. Yet this time around, there expects to be a lot less roster turnover.

A year ago the rotation behind the two cornerstones was Markelle Fultz, Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Wilson Chandler, J.J. Redick, Mike Muscala and Landry Shamet, all of who are no longer here; this season’s rotation is unlikely to change that much.

This is a relief for everyone involved. Not only does Brown have less to juggle, but the players also know their roles better. Some of the rotation trends are for real, and others are him simply seeing what he has.

The 76ers are, for the first time in quite a while, a normal basketball team; there’s no issues to force (i.e., playing a former No. 1 overall pick for the sake of saving a sunk cost), no expectation to trade for another star and no need to play Joel Embiid 36 minutes a night in November. The foundation is set, making the rest of the rotation easier to manage.
