FG Percentage: Mitchell Robinson

This one’s fairly easy to predict when we take a look at Mitchell Robinson‘s 2018-19 stats.

The second-round defensive monster ended the season having the highest field goal percentage in the league among players who averaged 20 minutes or more.

Talk about rookies struggling to find their shot.

His incredible patience on the offensive end resulted in him shooting 69.6 percent from the field last season. Now, without the dirt on his shoulders, we could end up witnessing a whole new version of Mitchell Robinson.

3-point Percentage: Bobby Portis

Now, this may be a long shot, but Bobby Portis has completely transformed himself into a 3-point sniper during the last couple of years.

To take things into perspective, Portis began his career as an average shooter from behind the arc. People seem to remain hung up on his 32.4 percent shooting from 3-point range during his first two seasons.

Since then, he’s managed to work on his shot, performing a U-turn which was capped off by a 40.3 shooting percentage during his stint with the Washington Wizards.

Other significant candidates include Allonzo Trier, Reggie Bullock (despite being inactive due to a back injury), Marcus Morris and even Kadeem Allen, who shot the ball remarkably well last season, 47.2 percent, though he played in a limited number of games.

FT Percentage: Allonzo Trier

They say 3-point shooters make the best free throw shooters.

This time, Allonzo Trier takes home the “trophy” with a slight edge, after narrowly beating out the opponents from the short list mentioned just above.

Despite being the worst team in the NBA, the 2018-19 New York Knicks managed to maintain a respectable level from the charity stripe. They were 19th in the NBA and by adding a series of comfortable free-throw shooters, that number is only set to skyrocket into the following season.
