Predictions for the 2019-20 Boston Celtics

2. Edwards makes an All-Rookie team
The light that shone brightest during preseason, Carsen Edwards displayed poise beyond his years every time he stepped on the court. Instantly providing offense from the bench, Edwards showed Boston Celtics fans exactly what they can expect from him this year.
Already showing signs of eradicating the turnovers which plagued his season at Purdue last year, Edwards is looking sharp and ready for the battle with Brad Wanamaker for the backup point guard slot.
His stellar shooting performance Oct. 15 against Cleveland has further enhanced his growing reputation as a microwave scorer off the bench. Having scored 26 points in eight third-quarter minutes, it’s becoming hard to envision Edwards being glued to the bench to start the season.
Unrealistic as it would be to expect that type of output during the regular season, Edwards has earned the opportunity to be a shooting option off the bench. Should he grasp this opportunity and reward the coaching staffs faith by having multiple scoring outbursts, then an All-Rookie team is well within his grasp.
