2. Oubre will be the Suns’ most impactful player

Let’s not get confused about the headline above. Devin Booker is the best player for the Phoenix Suns. There is no doubt about that. However, if Kelly Oubre Jr. stays healthy, he will have the most impact on the Suns by the time the season is over. Believe that.

Oubre brings energy and effort to a Suns team that is still trying to figure out Monty Williams’ defensive system. Last night, Oubre’s activity kept the game close.

In 30 minutes, Oubre scored 21 points, grabbed nine rebounds (two offensive) and numerous effort plays to keep the ball alive for his team.

He’s doing more for the Phoenix Suns than just making plays for himself, he is making strides to build chemistry with his teammates.

Look at this play right here.

Ricky Rubio brings the ball up on the secondary fast break. He drives the ball to the basket, but gets himself in trouble because De’Aaron Fox knows that he is a pass-first point guard and is not looking to shoot.

Oubre continues to run his lane and cuts to the basket instead of running to the 3-point line. He ends up bailing out Rubio and gets rewarded by getting an easy two points.

It seems that Oubre has spent time over the summer perfecting his Eurostep move over the summer. Right here, he basically shook the entire Kings organization with it.

If he continues to be able to finish strong with his off-hand, he will be able to finish at the rim. Something that Marvin Bagley III can attest to.

Rubio was a topic of conversation a lot during this game. Most raised eyebrows with his comparisons.
