Positives for Cleveland Cavaliers in season opener; 3 takeaways

The Cleveland Cavaliers have some clear positives to look at after their season opener.
It was an up-and-down opening night for the Cleveland Cavaliers. For everything the Cavaliers did right, a cold stretch quickly followed. The end result was a 94-85 loss to the Orlando Magic to begin the season.

Nikola Vucevic led all scorers with 21 points. As for the Cavs, Tristan Thompson and Collin Sexton each racked up 16 points. An inspiring performance from former No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz lifted the Magic to victory in the end.
This showing was a mixed bag for the Cavaliers. Despite trailing by 20 points early in the first half, Cleveland stormed back to make it a two-possession game in the fourth. Brief explosions offensively give a reason for optimism after the loss.
This much-anticipated opener proved what many had already thought about the Cavaliers, they need time to grow. Wild inexperience and ugly turnovers caused this first loss for Cleveland.
