3 Milwaukee Bucks that could step up, replace Malcolm Brogdon
By Byron Jones
2. Sterling Brown
Sterling Brown, the younger brother of former NBA player Shannon Brown, came into the league with something to prove. Selected 46th overall in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers, Brown would soon have his rights traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for cash considerations. Needless to say, this isn’t how any NBA hopeful wants their first professional experience to go.
After working past setbacks and disappointment, the former SMU Mustang has overcome all obstacles and positioned himself as an important piece to Milwaukee’s championship equation. At 6’6’’ and north of 230 pounds, Brown uses size and strength to his advantage whenever possible.
In his second season, Brown saw improvement in almost every statistical category while remaining in a supportive role behind the likes of Khris Middleton and Malcolm Brogdon.
Now that more minutes are available in the Bucks rotation, expect Brown to make his case for receiving most of them by showing how versatile his game is. Capable of defending against guards and forwards, Brown may be the most balanced option Milwaukee has at the present time.
If he can show consistency and learn from his veteran counterparts, Brown could play his way into the starting lineup or be the first player off the bench.
