3. The Lakers are big

Looking at a roster on paper and reading measurements is one thing. Sometimes you have to see the bodies on the court to get a real sense of a team’s size.

The Los Angeles Lakers are one of those teams that, when you see them play, you realize just how much of a size advantage they’ll have on a lot of opponents.

The Lakers don’t just have height and length, but they also have big guys who can move. Anthony Davis, JaVale McGee, Dwight Howard and LeBron James in particular stand out for their respective blends of size and athleticism.

If LeBron is going to be labeled a point guard now, he is the biggest and strongest point guard in the NBA at 6’8″ and 250 pounds. Davis is listed at 6’10” and 253 pounds with limbs reminiscent of Dhalsim from Street Fighter. McGee (7’0″, 270) and Howard (6’11”, 265) form a platoon at center that takes up a lot of space at and above the rim.

Not to mention Kyle Kuzma is far from undersized, checking in at 6’9″ and 220 pounds for a small forward or “stretch 4” power forward.

The NBA may have collectively embraced “small ball” during the Warriors’ recent run of dominance that included five straight Western Conference titles and three NBA championships, but there will always be a place in the game for sheer size.
