3. Tristan Thompson
The Cleveland Cavaliers made a great pick in the 2011 NBA Draft when they selected Tristan Thompson fourth overall.
Each season, Thompson has made some sort of improvement to his game. Whether it be becoming a more versatile scorer or bulking up as a rebounder, TT is committed to being the best version of himself possible.
This is why it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Thompson is looking to expand his shooting range to the 3-point line this season. TT began experimenting with mid-range shots last season, connecting on 39.0 percent of attempts from 10-16 feet.
Thompson might not have the best shooting touch. The big man has only attempted nine 3-pointers in his eight-year career and has yet to make one in a regular-season game. However, this might not stop TT from pulling this year as he has already jacked up four during the preseason.
If Thompson can manage to add any consistency to his shot, he will become a significant player for the Cavaliers. He is already an elite rebounder and improved finisher around the rim. A semi-reliable jump shot will help Thompson remain in the rotation for years to come as the NBA continues to evolve towards a space-and-pace style.
