26. Chris Paul’s revenge tour

During his second and final season with the Houston Rockets, Chris Paul was forced to watch his name get dragged through the mud all year long. Exorbitant contract aside, he appeared in just 58 games for the second consecutive season and posted career-lows in points per game and field goal percentage.

The digs were justified but devoid of any context. Paul understood what he was getting into by joining forces with James Harden, but the former MVP reneged on what seemed to be a working relationship all season long, dominating the ball to no end with the second-highest usage rate of all time.

CP3 has proven capable of playing off the ball, but the ballhandling maestro isn’t a future Hall of Famer for his abilities as a spot-up shooter. Even at his advanced age, Paul can still run the show with the best of them, as evidenced by his numbers in the absence of Harden.

Now a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, there will be little standing in the way of Paul assuming the role he’s grown accustomed to over 14 NBA seasons. His health is still a concern, but CP’s competitive edge will light a fire the other 29 teams in the league will have to pay for on a nightly basis.
