5 predictions for the dramatically different Warriors
By Alan Mena
4. The Warriors finish 7th in the Western Conference
As the NBA becomes a league full of dynamic duos, the amount of competition has increased.
For the first time in the last five years, the NBA has several title favorites next season: The LA Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers and the Golden State Warriors.
This increase in title favorites is due to the relocation of several superstars, which automatically spells trouble for the new-look Warriors. Stephen Curry and Draymond Green must utilize their leadership and selflessness to allow their teammates to grow and thrive in their roles, which will surely result in a playoff berth.
The Rockets, Clippers, Lakers, Nuggets will be battling for the first through fourth seeds, leaving the Warriors to compete against the Jazz, Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks and perhaps even the New Orleans Pelicans for the final four spots in the Western Conference.
The odds will surely be in their favor if Klay Thompson does return after the All-Star break, instantly making their playoff chances skyrocket.
