Pro: Jarrett Culver

The sixth overall pick in the draft this summer, there were some questions about the effectiveness of Jarrett Culver in this Minnesota Timberwolves system. However, it seems that by the end of these last two games, he may have been exactly what they needed.

After the departure of Tyus Jones, Minnesota was looking for a backup point guard who could get his points, as well as set up his teammates as well as Jones did last year. They may have found that guy in Culver.

Culver may have struggled these first two games in distributing the ball — he only averaged 1.5 assists per game — but he’ll certainly develop in that area under the mentorship of Jeff Teague.

One area where Teague struggles, and where Culver flourishes, is in scoring. Culver averaged 14 points per game, going 11-for-26 overall — 42.3 percent — while hitting 4-of-10 from 3-point range.

Culver also looks more reliable from the charity stripe than a player such as Andrew Wiggins, as he went 2-for-3 from the free-throw line over the first two games.
