Will the Charlotte Hornets fall off the NBA map after parting ways with their best player during the offseason? Here are three bold predictions for the 2019-20 NBA season.

The Charlotte Hornets haven’t given their fan base much to cheer about over the last decade. In fact, during that span, the team has managed to reach the postseason just three times.

More from Hoops Habit

In 2009-10, the then-Bobcats were swept out of the first round of the playoffs by the Orlando Magic. Their next postseason appearance did not take place until the 2013-14 campaign in which they placed seventh in the conference playoff race. Different year, same result though, as the Bobcats were swept once again, this time by the Miami Heat.

Then, in 2015-16, Charlotte finished with a 48-34 mark, which was the most victories they have posted since the 1999-00 season. In this instance, the Hornets put up a fight, pushing the Heat to seven games before bowing out in the series finale.

After parting ways with their best player in Kemba Walker in free agency, will the Hornets be one of the worst teams in the NBA? Who will step up to shoulder some of the scoring load following Walker’s departure and how will the team’s new point guard fare in a more featured role?

Here’s a look at three bold predictions for the Hornets as they prepare for the 2019-20 NBA season.
