2019-20 roster
Key additions: Derrick Rose (free agency), Markieff Morris (free agency), Tim Frazier (free agency), Tony Snell (trade), Joe Johnson (free agency), Sekou Doumbouya (draft)

While not featuring any of the stellar names available, the Pistons nonetheless made some valuable additions this past summer. In Rose, Morris and Johnson, the Pistons are adding a trio of veterans whose major strengths lie at the offensive end of the floor, an area that required a much-needed boost this offseason.
In addressing their overall moves, Senior Advisor Ed Stefanski mentioned he is proud of the depth the team added this summer.
"“I really believe in the offseason, with a trade, with the funds we had available in free agency….there is no question that our depth has improved.”"
He then further emphasized the depth that has been added, in particular, forward Markieff Morris:
"“At the four-spot, I think we’re very fortunate to get Markieff Morris, another gritty, tough guy who’s not going to back down from anybody.”"
With these additions, the Pistons hops that the overall workload on Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond can be slightly reduced, thus keeping them on the floor for the business end of the season.
Having played essentially on one-leg during their sweep at the hands of the Bucks, Griffin, in particular, will more than welcome this band of newcomers.
