2019 Offseason

The 2019 NBA offseason doesn’t look too different for the Timberwolves. Saric still wants out due to unhappiness with his role, Saunders is still named the head coach, Gersson Rosas is still named new president of basketball operations and they still lose Tyus Jones, Rose, and Gibson in a failed pursuit of D’Angelo Russell.

The main difference comes in the draft. The Timberwolves would end up with the ninth overall pick, but they would still pick Jarrett Culver as part of their trade with the Phoenix Suns. The only difference is that Phoenix would end up with Cam Reddish instead of Cameron Johnson.

In the grand scheme of things, the changes to the Minnesota Timberwolves wouldn’t be too drastic had Wiggins missed those free throws in 2018. The biggest difference would be the losses of Josh Okogie and Andrew Wiggins, as they were replaced with Batum and Bridges.
