No. 1: Kristaps Porzingis

This one almost felt too obvious to include.

Kristaps Porzingis will play his first set of home games in the Lone Star State starting in 2019-20.

The 7’3″ Latvian is coming off of a grisly ACL tear that sidelined him for the majority of 2018-19.

After being shipped to Dallas in exchange for DeAndre Jordan and Dennis Smith Jr., Porzingis sat at the edge of the Mavs bench and watched helplessly as his new team finished second-to-last in the Western Conference.

After some intense rehabilitation and training, the Zinger looks more prepared than ever to tackle a full NBA season.

Nevertheless, a breakout season for Porzingis relies on a full physical recovery.

The moment that Porzingis can play consistently without worrying about injury is the moment he can truly burst back onto the NBA scene as the dominant force that fans expect.

In a lineup that includes Luka Doncic, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Courtney Lee, Porzingis can ease into carrying a larger productive role and complete a full recovery.

If the stars align and the two other players on this list breakout as well, Mavs fans will be able to watch their team with pride rather than fear.
