The Dallas Mavericks have missed the playoffs in each of the last three seasons. Can they turn this trend around? Here’s a look a three bold predictions for the 2019-20 NBA season.

Since winning it all back in 2011, the Dallas Mavericks haven’t given their fan base much to be excited about over the past several seasons. In the four years that followed them climbing the NBA mountaintop, the Mavericks failed to qualify for the playoffs in 2011-12 and they suffered three consecutive first-round playoff exits after that.

More from Hoops Habit

The past three seasons have been even worse. Not only have the Mavericks missed the playoffs, they have not won more than 33 games during that span. This includes a 24-win season in 2017-18.

Adding a healthy Kristaps Porzingis to the mix should make life a bit easier for reigning Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic, but there are several questions worth keeping an eye on. Can Tim Hardaway Jr. become an efficient shooter?

Will the Mavericks feature a pair of players (Doncic and Porzingis) representing the team in next year’s All-Star game? Even more important, can this formidable duo help turn the team’s fortunes around sooner rather than later?

Here’s a look at three bold predictions for the Mavericks as they head into the 2019-20 NBA season.
