Over the last five years, Clint Capela has posted career-high numbers in every statistical category. Can the Houston Rockets center do it once again?
Despite starring on a team that launches more 3-point shot attempts per year than missions sent outer space, Houston Rockets center Clint Capela has not allowed perimeter-oriented attacks to halt him from being an intrinsic piece to Clutch City’s attack.
The 25-year-old center — who finished in the top 10 among all players in double-doubles last season — put together yet another career season for the third straight year, averaging a career-high 16.6 points and 12.7 rebounds per game through 67 games.
Capela became first player since Wilt Chamberlain to average 16+ points and 12+ rebounds and shoot 63 percent or better in just his third full season as a starter. Now, the man known to many as the Swiss Roll is working to take his game up another notch to help Houston capture its first NBA championship in a quarter-century this upcoming season.
Can the player who once found his name involved in trade rumors earlier this summer find a way to improve upon his recent success? Here are the top three goals for Capela in 2019-20.
