4. The Lopez brothers

Following a solid 2017-18 season with the Los Angeles Lakers, center Brook Lopez signed a one-year, $3.38 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks to prove he was a starting-caliber big man.

Not only was the former Stanford Cardinal standout able to prove that, but he parlayed his productivity into a four-year, $52 million return to the Milwaukee Bucks this offseason.

Lopez brings a couple of stellar traits to the table. As a scorer at the center position, he is a lights-out shooter from beyond the arc. Converting on 36.5 percent of his attempts from deep on 6.3 launches per game, Lopez keeps defenses honest with his ability to stretch the floor.

In addition to being a valuable piece on the offensive end, Lopez averaged a career-high 2.2 blocks per game in 2018.

Desperate for some help at the backup center spot, the Bucks signed Brook’s twin brother, Robin, using the team’s full room exception. Robin is the antithesis of Brook. Taking 36 percent of his shots at the rim last season, “RoLo” is a limited offensive player.

He is a high-IQ defender, though, and still offers tremendous value as a reserve.

Elite teams make signings like this one. It isn’t flashy, but having a quality backup center that can play stout defense until his counterpart is ready to enter back into the game is helpful. In addition to that, what person wouldn’t enjoy being on the same team as their brother?

It doesn’t get much better than that.
