It’s championship-or-bust time for the Milwaukee Bucks. Heading into one of the most important seasons in franchise history, why should fans be excited about this year’s product?

Pressure creates diamonds. For the Milwaukee Bucks, the franchise is hopeful those diamonds come in the form of championship rings.

More from Hoops Habit

On the heels of a league-best 60 wins and a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals, coach Mike Budenholzer’s squad had its best campaign in decades. Giannis Antetokunmpo experienced his best season as a pro, winning his first career MVP award.

Although things didn’t end the way Milwaukee had hoped, 2018 was a stepping stone for the future.

Losing Malcolm Brogdon this offseason, the Bucks will likely turn things over to Wesley Matthews at the shooting guard position. Veteran acquisitions Kyle Korver and Robin Lopez offer unique traits as depth pieces.

Khris Middleton is back on a five-year, $178 million deal, making him a Buck — and quite a few bucks —through his prime.

As the 2019 regular season approaches, anticipation is building in Milwaukee. The organization hasn’t won a championship since the 1970-71 season. With Kawhi Leonard departing for the LA Clippers, the Eastern Conference is as wide-open as it has ever been (more on that later).

That raises the question, though: Why should fans be excited?
