Best NBA Jam duo for Dallas Mavericks: Dirk Nowitzki + Luka Doncic

Some NBA Jam pairings are about speed and others about power. Some are looking to dunk at every available opportunity and others are focused on swarming defensively to generate steals and blocks. For the Dallas Mavericks, the team they have crafted will bring a different element to NBA Jam: Finesse.

Dirk Nowitzki is one of the all-time best scorers in the history of the game. His smooth one-legged fadeaway is unblockable and he can shoot from anywhere on the court. What can an opponent do to stop him from sending the ball through the hoop on every shot, barely tickling the twine on its way through?

While Vince Carter and other dunktastic players did pass through Dallas during their careers, the best pairing is a player who can match Dirk in terms of making tough shots, flipping the ball in on floaters, layups, finger rolls, jumpers and even one-legged falling-down buzzer-beating triples.

Luka Doncic is a connoisseur of shooting, from his stepback to his finishing around the rim. He would get on fire and stay that way, and when defenders step up he would fire a pass to Nowitzki for an easy jumper.

This pairing will not leap out of the gym, nor will they be lockdown defenders. But they can score from anywhere, at any time, and that will result in unstoppable offensive explosions.
