Minnesota Timberwolves: 5 key 2019-20 games
By Ethan Becker
1. Sunday, Oct. 27: Timberwolves vs. Heat
The Minnesota Timberwolves will start their home games off with a game against the Miami Heat in late October. This game will be a pivotal one for a few reasons.
First of all, it’s the home opener, so there’s a chance to start the season out right, and carry a bit of momentum into the beginning of the year.
Not for nothing, out of the 16 teams that made the playoffs last season, 12 won their home opener, with the Houston Rockets, Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder and LA Clippers being the exceptions.
The ninth-place teams in each conference (Charlotte Hornets in the East and Sacramento Kings in the West) lost theirs.
This game is also a must-win for the Timberwolves because it’s the first time they’ll see an old rival in Jimmy Butler. Butler wrecked the team chemistry last season, which sent Minnesota off on a horrible start.
If they are able to win this game and right those wrongs, then things will be off to a wonderful start.
