2. What will the Celtics’ rotation end up looking like?

Coming into training camp, the starting five for the Celtics is an enigma. Kemba Walker is obviously going to start at point guard, but beyond there everything is pure speculation — this not only extends to players but also the positions they will occupy.

Multiple players on the team are versatile enough to play in multiple positions, the question is will this be at their detriment or benefit?

With no little as four contributing members of last year’s team leaving, there are minutes available at every position. From guard to center, there are holes that need to be filled — could this lead to a larger rotation to begin the season?

Brad Stevens has become known for his experimental approach to begin a new season, he shows no fear in plugging guys in to see how they fit within a rotational scheme.

This should not change to begin this year, with players like Brad Wanamaker and Carsen Edwards fighting for minutes at guard to Daniel Theis and Robert Williams at forward, there will be battles throughout the roster to earn time on the court.

However, due to the number of new arrivals in Boston, Stevens will have to spend the majority of training camp embedding the team philosophy and playbook into the new guys.

He is a coach who preaches about building good habits early and should be looking to implement these the moment he gets the squad through the door.

Implementing these habits, and having the battles for playing time up and down the roster should lead to a more cohesive unit than seen last year.

Another year removed from the conference finals run which hung so heavy around their necks last year the returning players have a point to prove, as the old saying goes “Iron sharpens iron”.

Expect to see every player get a chance early in the year, then it’s up to them to grasp it and make a role for themselves for the remainder of the season.
