After an exciting rookie season, Mikal Bridges displayed his value to the Phoenix Suns. But the question remains how the Suns will utilize him in 2019-20.

The forward played a key role for the team, starting 56 of the 82 games he played in. He averaged 8.3 points per game on 43.0 percent shooting from the field and showed early signs of becoming an elite NBA defender.
But heading into next season many questions can be asked to where Bridges fits into new head coach Monty Williams‘ plans.
The Suns had a busy offseason bringing in a number of new faces to the franchise. Most notably were two players that play at Bridges’ main position of small forward: Kelly Oubre Jr. and Cameron Johnson.
That throws Bridges’ role next season for a loop. While other positions look to have established the pecking role heading into 2019-20, small forward is a fluid situation.
At the moment it looks like Oubre is the starter, but nothing is certain until the Suns take the court on Oct. 23 against the Sacramento Kings. That leaves Bridges to show to team he’s got heading into his second year in the NBA.
