2. Patrick Beverley

Patrick Beverley is glowingly defined as grit, hustle and intensity personified. Never at a loss for words or effort, Beverley encourages teammates to follow his lead by competing for every play for 48 minutes. His pesky style of defense infuriates opposing players but also gains him respect at the same time.

Few players in today’s modern NBA would fit in perfectly with the era of hand checking, holding and scuffles intended to do more than talk and shove. Beverley is certainly a throwback talent in this regard. His on-court demeanor lets you know he’s willing to fight for what he believes is his and no opposing players get a pass.

No one deserves having Leonard and George alongside him more than Beverley. Now we will see a brand of basketball few have been able to duplicate in recent memory. A style of play that makes it difficult to get the ball up court to run offensive sets.

If the LA Clippers were an American football team, Leonard and George would be considered the two best defensive backs hands down. This will give Beverley more freedom to blitz ball handlers and disrupt them in any way possible.
