2. Julius Randle

The biggest contract handed out this offseason by the New York Knicks went to Julius Randle. Randle agreed to a three-year deal worth about $62 million. The third year of that deal is partially guaranteed for only $4 million.

When the deal was announced between Randle and the organization, there were plenty of skeptics. The same old Knicks crowd came out, loudly, but this was a great signing for the Knicks.

After missing out on the max free agents, they signed a player who will be turning 25 in November, coming off the best season of his career.

Despite being selected by a big-time franchise in the Los Angeles Lakers, people seem to have overlooked Randle. He began breaking out his final season with the Lakers during the 2017-18 season.

After being disappointed by his role, he used that as motivation to put together an impressive season, averaging 16 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists. He improved on those numbers with the Pelicans.

Randle averaged 21.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game in his lone season with the New Orleans Pelicans. Those numbers would have him in consideration for the All-Star team in the Eastern Conference.

Randle will have every opportunity to reach those numbers he put up last season once again. While he may have technically broken out last season, this season will be when he truly breaks out. Playing in New York, Randle will garner more attention.

If he puts up numbers as good as last season, Randle will put himself on the map.
