The Denver Nuggets have a big year ahead of them. Outside of their consistent contributors, these guys could become stars in 2019-20.

The Denver Nuggets made their return to the playoffs last season after a five-year hiatus. They finished in the top 10 on both ends of the floor and they’ll be looking to build on that this year.

More from Hoops Habit

They’ll get strong contributions from center Nikola Jokic, who will be fresh off of his first All-NBA finish, shooting guard Gary Harris and power forward Paul Millsap. However, where are the surprise contributors going to come from?

Consistent contributions from veterans are always there, but this Nuggets team is juiced with young talent. Around half of the roster are still on their rookie contracts. They have guys as backups that would likely be starting for other teams.

Players like Monte Morris, Malik Beasley and two of Will Barton, Torrey Craig and Jerami Grant would be every-night starters on most other NBA teams.

This year, we’re going to see at least one guy take that next step and start to show the NBA what he can do at this level.

Jamal Murray is an interesting case after a few years of decent production, but, after signing a max extension, I figure that he’s “broken” out, although I could see him taking an even bigger step this year.

So, let’s not keep dawdling and get this thing started. Who’s star is rising and will be breaking out this year?
