Although Garland is seen as one of the most talented players in his class, selecting a point guard in back-to-back years is a questionable move. Can Garland coexist with Collin Sexton?
Well, we are going to find out. The Cavaliers seem to have every plan to start both guards next to each other. Rookie head coach John Beilein has gone as far to say that the duo will be “beautiful together”.
Hopefully, Beilein is on to something here. Starting two undersized guards is a risky play for a team that ranked towards the bottom of the league in defense last season. The key here is to assume that the offense will outweigh their poor defense.
Still, is this pairing something that will truly work? Let’s break down three ways starting both Sexton and Garland can be beneficial to the team.
