1. Helps the team core

Injury and lack of points often plagued the Pistons last season, especially in crucial stretches of the year. Adding Beasley to the roster will help this team address their depth issues, lack of scoring and it takes the pressure off Griffin, Drummond, and Jackson.

Outside of the Pistons’ big three, and a few others, Beasley averaged more points than half of last seasons’ roster while only playing  10.7 minutes per game. That may not say a lot, but at the same time, it speaks to how the Pistons struggle to receive consistent scoring contributions.

If the Kansas State product receives playing time and a fair chance to crack the rotation, he will help fill the small forward starting role. Playing him in the starting line up allows Doumbouya to develop and Morris can add more scoring off the bench.

Either way, the Pistons will have size at the small forward slot, but placing the Walking Bucket in the rotation will give this team instant scoring. He will also run the floor on the face break and relieve pressure off Griffin.

When or if Griffin gets hurt or gets rest on the bench, Pistons head coach Dwane Casey will not have to question where his offense will come from. Beasley will look to score when needed or impact the game in another capacity.
