Up to this point in his career, Simmons has been a poor shooter. In fact, he might be the worst shooter in the entire league. With the importance of space-and-pace in today’s NBA being at an all-time high, many wonder why Simmons refuses to adapt his game.
Everyone has their own opinion on Simmons’ jump shot. While some believe he is simply shooting with the wrong hand, others think there is a mental block stopping him from connecting on outside attempts.
Simmons’ shooting percentages last year:
- Less than 5 feet – 65.0 percent
- 5-9 feet – 42.5 percent
- 10-14 feet – 25.4 percent
- 15-19 feet – 9.5 percent
Until Simmons finds a way to consistently knock down jumpers, his team will suffer from a shrunken floor offensively. If the 76ers want to take the next step towards winning a championship, Simmons will need to overcome his shooting woes.
Today, we will break down the notorious footage that has fans so excited. First, we need to discuss the two major issues behind his poor accuracy. Then, we can truly see if he has improved.
