team. 67. . Kings. . Marvin Bagley III. 29

Another member of the 2018 NBA Draft class, Marvin Bagley III came into the league with a great deal of hype as the No. 2 overall pick and looks to move into the starting lineup as a sophomore after making just four starts in 2018-19.

Bagley was effective off the bench for the Sacramento Kings, who had their best record at 39-43 since the club last made the playoffs in 2006.

The 19-year-old left-hander put up 19 double-doubles in 62 games — he missed almost a month in December and January with a left knee injury that he sprained again in early March — and got better as the season progressed.

In 19 games after the All-Star break, Bagley averaged 18.5 points and 9.2 rebounds in 27.8 minutes per game, shooting 48.7 percent overall and hitting 39.0 percent on 2.2 3-point attempts per game.

That boosted his overall numbers on the season to 14.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 25.3 minutes a night while shooting 50.4 percent overall and 31.3 percent on 1.5 triple tries per game.

But defensively, Bagley is still a work in progress. The Kings were 3.6 points better per 100 possessions with him off the floor.

He’s got terrific size at 6-foot-11 and 234 pounds, but will need to make quicker reads at the defensive end, where he had a tendency to hesitate and get lost on screens and closeouts.

Still, the future looks very bright as Sacramento looks for another second-year lottery pick to make a huge leap, a la De’Aaron Fox last season.
