Heat. . Kelly Olynyk. 19. team. 110.

Kelly Olynyk has found new life since coming to the Miami Heat in 2017, moving from backup center to likely a full-time starting gig as a stretch 4 in Miami this season.

Last season, Olynyk moved in and out of the starting lineup, appearing in a career-high 79 games and making a career-best 36 starts.

He put up 10.0 points and 4.7 rebounds in 22.9 minutes per game while shooting 46.3 percent overall and hitting 35.4 percent on a career-high 4.0 3-point attempts a night.

Olynyk is a 7-footer who will struggle at times defensively against small-ball lineups, but he was 71.9 percent finisher at the rim last season while taking almost 57 percent of his attempts from behind the arc.

In other words, a pace-and-space ratio on the plus side to go with size.

In the sequence below, Olynyk operates as the trail man on a controlled break after getting a block and recovering the rebound at the other end.

The Heat were a better team with Olynyk out there last season, to the tune of 4.3 points per 100 possessions better with the big Canadian on the court.

At age 28, he’s not going to give Miami a lot of upside, but with the Heat bringing in Jimmy Butler, it’s more about right now than later on South Beach.
