LA Clippers: 3 players facing most pressure in 2019-20
By Byron Jones
1. Paul George
Paul George is coming off, arguably, the best season of his illustrious NBA career. He dominated the league for most of the year, averaging 28.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 36.9 minutes a game.
Unfortunately, shoulder issues hampered his ability to maintain his effectiveness down the stretch.
With successful surgeries on both shoulders over the offseason, George is in no rush to get back on the court just yet. Making sure he is completely healed and prepared for a long playoff run is, by far, the priority for everybody associated with the organization.
Mismanaging George and his recovery would be a mistake the LA Clippers can’t afford to make.
Once healthy, George will be a major reason why LA not only wins but dominates in the upcoming 2019-20 season. Being a leader, on and off the court, has its own inherent pressure associated with it that George is all too familiar with.
Going down in franchise history as one of the main leaders responsible for bringing the Clippers its first NBA championship is on a whole different level.
