1. Stephen Curry

Call it unfair, and you may have a point. If not for Klay Thompson rehabbing from an injury as serious as a torn ACL, Curry wouldn’t grace this list.

Yet there’s a harsh reality to the new season for Stephen Curry, who as the captain for the Warriors will once again have hefty burdens to prove himself as the leader of this young squad.

With at least eight new additions and more than five key players departing, Curry will have to adjust on the fly and cope with learning newcomers’ playing habits in a challenging Western Conference.

The guard averaged 27.3 points per contest last season along with 5.2 assists, an impressive pair of stats that will be necessary in determining how far this team can go. He and Russell will share majority of the praise or blame in how this season transpires.

Will the “Bay Area” turn on Curry for one disappointing season after the monumental amount success he’s delivered? It would be foolish to think so.

Yet this fan base is now one that expects and demands a winning season, which will put Curry at the forefront of headlines if the team falls behind quickly.
