3. Willie Cauley-Stein

OK, call this a bit of a stretch if you may, but Willie Cauley-Stein does indeed have his work cut out for him this upcoming season.

The University of Kentucky product will step into a critical role for a team looking to maintain its dynasty status and pose a threat to upcoming Western Conference rivals.

The Warriors struck potential gold when they were able to nab the 25-year-old center away from the Sacramento Kings.

His career averages of 10.1 points and 6.4 rebounds haven’t lived up to the lottery-pick dream, but in a new system that has head coach Steve Kerr developing fresh tactics to accommodate the recent additions to the roster, Cauley-Stein may find himself in the best possible scenario to prove his worth.

Kerr previously noted on Warriors Insider Monte Poole’s podcast the impact Cauley-Stein would on the Warriors success in the post area next season.

"“He’s really mobile. He gives us the lob threat that really only JaVale McGee has given us in the five years I’ve been here in that 5 spot,” said Kerr."

As the younger of the former centers for the Warriors in DeMarcus Cousins and JaVale McGee, Cauley-Stein could give the starting five the fresh legs they deserve to keep an uptempo pace while on the court together.

His numbers may start off slow as the season commences, but expect them to surely rise beyond anything he’s accomplished thus far.
