Feb. 10: Spurs at Nuggets
Come February, the San Antonio Spurs will already have marked off teams they have somewhat of a vendetta against. But a must-watch matchup comes right before the All-Star break: a trip to the Mile High City to get some playoff revenge.
The Spurs will have to wait for half of the season before they get to face off against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs in a tight seven-game series.
Another chance to duke it out with Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Paul Millsap is quite welcome. Seeing as the matchup proved so close and cutthroat in the playoffs, the regular season rehash is going to be essential viewing in the Spurs’ slate of games.
Of course, the vengeance storyline is fulfilling, but this game also comes as the second to last game before the All-Star break.
The break is always much anticipated, appreciated but too short. Last year the Spurs managed one All-Star in LaMarcus Aldridge, as DeMar DeRozan missed out for the first time in three seasons. This season should see both players in high contention for a spot yet again.
It is always good to go into the break on a high note. And come on, beating the team that ended your season is always rewarding. I just want to see a couple more legal screens from Jakob Poeltl. This game also comes in a stretch that will be pivotal.
