Nov. 29: Spurs vs. Clippers

The San Antonio Spurs play the LA Clippers twice early in the season. The first game comes on Halloween night in the fourth game of the season, when the Spurs travel to face the Clippers, who will probably be down Paul George (still nursing a shoulder injury).

And then in late November, the Spurs will host LA in another homecoming for Kawhi Leonard. By post-Thanksgiving, Paul George should be back and the Spurs will matchup against one of the new-look teams in the West.

This game is one of the Spurs early-season matchups that could help provide context for the entire season. A big win here can either be a rung on the ladder to glory or just an outlier game in an average, disappointing season.

How the Spurs play against other middling teams in the west is just as important as how they play against Golden State, both Los Angeles teams, Houston, Utah and Denver, a.k.a. the elite teams.

If they can shine against the Clippers, and suffocate George and Leonard, then they can do it to just about any team. Also, who doesn’t love to see the Spurs stick it to Kawhi whenever they can?
