1. Malik Beasley

There are a few players that could fit in this spot, but Malik Beasley is the one getting the nod. Beasley seems like he is the best reserve player that’s heading into a contract season and he could become a starter somewhere else next year with more quality play.

He can shoot from inside or outside and his athleticism makes him a great transition player for anyone that needs it on the wing.

His main issue though is his defense. His defensive grade has slipped every season further and further into the negative while his offensive grade improved into the positive for the first time last season.

Unless his offensive play takes a major jump next season, he needs to focus on becoming a more complete player. Otherwise, he could wind up having to return to the Denver Nuggets on a smaller contract.

We’ve seen dynamic scorers get paid in big ways in recent years with guys like Devin Booker and Zach LaVine getting huge contracts. Beasley isn’t on that level, but that’s the mold he can fit into. He’s an efficient scorer, and he can shoot from everywhere.

His play can make him a ton of money. It will be interesting to see if he can take that next step next season alongside his fellow under pressure players.
