Integrating the new players, rookies and veterans alike will be the first task Brad Stevens will be looking to achieve quickly followed by assessing the talent at his disposal.
New expectations bring new pressures with them, both for the team collectively and individually. Returning players are expected to have improved aspects of their game while rookies need to provide youthful energy at a minimum.
Individuals handle expectations differently, some will thrive on it whereas some will carry it like a weight on their shoulders.
Each player on the roster will have a varying degree of pressure: Some will be expected to contribute, others to show improvement. A select few will be expected to lead by example.
This pressure is not just earmarked for the players either, it runs through the ranks rising to the top of the ladder. Stevens will be feeling the heat along with his coaching staff, with every member of the Boston organization looking to right the ship after the storms of last year.
Which leads to the question — which of these players carry the greatest burden? Who is really under the most pressure?
