Sign Justin Robinson

Justin Robinson is a rookie who went undrafted out of Virginia Tech. Right after the draft it was reported that the Washington Wizards were going to sign him to a multiyear deal. The three-year, $4.2 million deal was not officially signed until Jul 13 and only the first year is guaranteed.

For the price, this is a great deal for Washington. Robinson is an all-around point guard who can do a lot of different things on the floor. His shooting skill is excellent, his court vision is great, and he has good handles.

In the Summer League, Robinson showed flashes of those skills, but he also showed that he is only 21 years old. His decision-making led him to a lot of turnovers and he sometimes looked a little overwhelmed on the defensive side of the ball, especially in the pick-and-roll.

Robinson will likely spend the season in the G League to continue his learning process. The Wiz are hoping he will end up like Chris Chiozza from last year’s team G League team.

However, unlike Chiozza, who signed a deal with the Houston Rockets near the end of the season, Robinson will be under team control.
