Sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that five marquee matcups will be taking place on Christmas Day in 2019.
The NFL owns Thanksgiving in America. And you know, so does family and turkey and stuff(ing) like that.
The NBA has a monopoly on Christmas. And you know, so do gifts, Santa, Jesus and stuff of that nature.
Many Americans can testify that each of these holidays include food, family, and sports of some kind within their given households, and when it comes to the NBA, some of the most high-profile matchups come at this point in the year.
We’ve seen the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers face off on this day recently, the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks in 2011 after their Finals battle, the 2008 Los Angeles Lakers destroying their menacing foe in the Boston Celtics after having fallen to them in the previous year in the Finals, and the list goes on.
This coming year, the trend continues.
The slate of NBA games coming up on Christmas Day in 2019 is absolutely loaded with several matchups that may be Conference Finals previews in the East and West in May 2020.
