As the Cavaliers fell out of championship contention, a window opened up for Osman to receive more playing time and work on his game. Jumping from 11.0 minutes per game to 31.2, Osman increased his points per game average by nearly 10 points.
The young forward began playing a pivotal role in creating offense for the Cavaliers. His scoring ability ranges from pushing the ball in transition to shooting 3-pointers. Osman is perhaps the most versatile player on the roster with the size and agility to play multiple positions.
Behind a four-game stretch in which he averaged 24.3 points and 6.8 rebounds a night, Osman earned a selection to the NBA Rising Stars game. This marked the peak of a player in his first experience as a real rotational player in the NBA.
