Having been dumped by the Houston Rockets, here are the pros and cons of a potential Chris Paul trade for the Miami Heat.

Having missed out on landing Russell Westbrook, there appears to be a strong possibility that the Miami Heat have quickly turned their attention elsewhere.

After the Houston Rockets landed Westbrook in a blockbuster trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the playing future of Chris Paul was immediately the focus of the basketball world.

Acquired by Oklahoma City in the aforementioned trade, there appears little chance of Paul appearing in a Thunder jersey come the 2019-20 season.

At 34, and with the Thunder clearly in a rebuilding mode having acquired a treasure trove of future first-round picks following their mega-trades of Westbrook and Paul George, Paul clearly does not fit the timeline of the Thunder moving forward.

Following their recent acquisition of Jimmy Butler, the Heat have been consistently mentioned with possible moves in order to partner Butler with another star player.

In the case of Paul, it would certainly be one of the more risky moves in team president Pat Riley‘s 24-year tenure with the team.

So while any possible move brings about much excitement and debate among fans, here’s a look at some of the pros and cons as it pertains to the Miami Heat pursuing Chris Paul.
