Boston Celtics: 3 takeaways from 2019 NBA offseason

The Boston Celtics encountered a tough summer, filled with hurt, change and new found optimism moving into the new season.
A wind of change swept through the NBA starting with the Anthony Davis trade, culminating in wide-spread roster change. That wind swept through the locker room of the Boston Celtics, taking two star players and multiple fan favorites with it.

The league is no longer dominated by a select few, no, now is a new era of competitiveness, an era where as many as twelve teams can be considered contenders.
Boston is a team that both fell victim and rose victorious during this period, losing Kyrie Irving, Al Horford and others while bringing in Kemba Walker and Enes Kanter.
It remains to be seen what impact these changes make in on-court performance, however, following last seasons capitulation it’s evident changes were needed.
The calmness following the storm provides time for reflection, allowing anyone on the outside time to interpret these moves and make their own decisions on what it means for the upcoming season. With that said, here are three takeaways from the off-season so far.
