1. The Unique brand, style of play and person Zion is

Looking at the list of athletes Jordan currently sponsors, one can deduce that the company doesn’t regularly go after run-of-the-mill athletes to represent their brand, even with the company expanding in terms of sponsorship.

Zion Williamson fits the mold perfectly and expands the brand to younger athletes as well.

With his unique skill set, size and explosiveness paired with a charismatic personality and humility, it’s almost too perfect. Having separated from Kawhi Leonard in the last several years as the new LA Clipper signed with New Balance, the brand has a new enigmatic individual.

Except, they’ve got to enjoy this one a little more for one very obvious reason. This guy has a personality.

In an interview with the New York Post, college teammate RJ Barrett said:

"“His personality’s like a Magic Johnson-type. He’s really out there, he’s really patient with everything, he’s just a great, down-to-earth human being, and it’s amazing to see him around fans and stuff.”"

Despite the recent mishaps in the pursuit of Kawhi Leonard and mishandling his exit from the front office of the Los Angeles Lakers, Johnson has been notable for his likeable, captivating personality. Barrett’s words must send off an audible “cha-ching” in the minds of Nike executives.
