1. Trading Ray Allen

Just imagine. Just, for one moment allow yourself to imagine. In 1995 the Minnesota Timberwolves selected Kevin Garnett and the very next year, with the sixth overall pick, the Minnesota Timberwolves selected Ray Allen.

Imagine if Garnett and Allen had teamed up, except they were earlier in their careers and they did it in Minnesota.

Allen would later be traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, having never played a game in a Timberwolves jersey. If he had though, there might be a universe where the Timberwolves roster at one point in the late-2000s would’ve had Kevin Garnett, Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio and Ray Allen.

Looking back on it, passing on Allen may have ended up being beneficial for Minnesota, because if we had him we may not have ended up with players like Love, Rubio, Karl-Anthony Towns or Andrew Wiggins; but still, that desire to have seen Allen suit up for Minnesota is too big to ignore.
