3. Allonzo Trier
The story of Allonzo Trier is one that should be taught in schools. From going undrafted to securing his spot on an NBA team to eventually winding 8th in scoring amongst rookies.
It is extremely rare to see an undrafted rookie spend as much time on the court as Trier did during his rookie campaign. Quickly defying the odds, Trier earned his minutes the hard way, ultimately playing 22.8 minutes per game over the 64 games he appeared in.
Unfortunately for him, the additions of R.J. Barrett, Wayne Ellington and Reggie Bullock are destined to seriously reduce his playing time.
To top it all off, Trier is not that confident with the ball in his hands to play as a point guard and does not have the right size to guard opposing small forwards. He is strictly built for playing the shooting guard spot.
Trier’s only hope at maintaining the same number of minutes he had during his rookie season would be to outshoot his own teammates or even developing his game to become something more than just an average scorer.
