1. Kevin Love (2008-14)

Kevin Love is like the ex who gave you so many chances. You put him through so much pain, anger, and frustration, but he kept on coming back because he was loyal, and he loved you.

All your friends said that you were going to lose him if you didn’t treat him right, but you were too blind to see.

And then you had to go and ruin it by kissing another guy!

Now, again in fairness to the Minnesota Timberwolves, that other guy was Karl-Anthony Towns, but almost nobody is going to come forward and say that Minnesota’s treatment of Love was kind, or showed respect for the man who’d put so much blood, sweat, and tears into making the Timberwolves a contender.

Love wanted to go to Minnesota in 2008, a sentiment that is rarely expressed in the NBA anymore. He was really excited about then-general manager Kevin McHale and Love thought that he could do a lot of really big things for Minneapolis. Soon, that faded.

David Kahn took over the team and blindly backed by owner Glen Taylor, he made some of the worst draft picks imaginable. He passed on the likes of Stephen Curry, Paul George and Klay Thompson, and he tried to push busts like Nikola Pekovic up beside Love.

For once, it wasn’t the weather or the market that drove a star out of Minnesota, it was the team’s own incompetence.

Now, five years later, Love has gone on to win the NBA championship, and the Timberwolves have only made the playoffs once in that time span. Minnesota would love to have a player like Love back on the team to fill in a major frontcourt hole next to KAT.

Plus, Minnesota fans just always seemed to love, well, Love. It would just make sense if he came back.
