Boston Celtics: Complete grades for the 2019 NBA offseason

Signing Vincent Poirier
The Boston Celtics signed little-known Vincent Poirier to a two-year deal. Here is what we know about him. At 7-feet and 255 pounds, Poirier has developed into a solid rebounder capable of running the floor. He finished the 2018-19 Euroleague season as the leading rebounder.
Going undrafted in 2015, Poirier returned to France and played a year there before returning to the States to play in the 2016 Summer League for the Orlando Magic.
Failing to impress, Porier again went in search of playing time in Europe eventually signing a contract with Baskonia of Spain’s ACB and a Euroleague qualifier.
During his two years in Spain, Poirier’s body grew into its enormous frame allowing him to become a force around the basket. He has obviously worked on his game, finishing 2018-19 with All-Euroleague second-team honors.
Boston now has multiple bigs who can rebound and run the floor, making it hard to see where Poirier’s minutes are going to come from this year. He will need to be ready to seize any opportunity that comes his way this year, which may start with garbage time minutes.
