1. Golden State Warriors

Fresh off of five consecutive trips to the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors have been left beat up and defeated. A crushing ACL injury to Klay Thompson and the loss of Kevin Durant has put this dynasty in jeopardy.

Luckily, the Dubs made quick work to add another star in D’Angelo Russell. The 21-year-old guard averaged 21.1 points and 7.0 assists last year on his way to reaching his first All-Star Game.

While he is certainly a valuable player, he doesn’t really fit with the Warriors, especially when Thompson eventually returns.

Though a deal can’t be completed until December 15, trade rumors have already begun for D-Lo. One potential trade that satisfies both parties is a straight-up deal for Kevin Love.

In this exchange, the Warriors gain a star forward that can shoot from deep at an efficient rate. Love fits much better with this lineup, giving the Dubs the ability to play small ball with Draymond Green or Love at the center.

Furthermore, the Warriors gain a player with championship experience to help them compete immediately rather than in the future.

Now, the only issue with this deal is that the Cavaliers would now have three point guards on the roster, all of which are below-average defenders.

However, D-Lo is by far a better playmaker than Collin Sexton and Darius Garland, meaning he could fill in the 1 spot and allow the others to focus on scoring as a shooting guard.

Then, this would ultimately push either Garland or Sexton into a sixth man role while D-Lo earns the starting position next to one of them. This might be the best option overall for the team, as playing Sexton and Garland together at the same time felt like a bad decision, to begin with.

Perhaps an extra player or draft pick would have to be thrown in for both sides to agree, but on paper, this exchange feels fair for everyone.
